CAREER MOVE :  Ian Rumanyika resigns as Head of External & Corporate Affairs at Uganda Baati After 3 impactful years.

Ian Rumanyika resigns as Head OF  External and Corporate Affairs at Uganda Baati. According to his official statement on X.Ian’s last day at Work will be June 30th 2025. His tenure at Uganda Baati has seen their brand visibility tripple and an increase in fruitful stakeholder partnerships. He is keeping the Ugandan PR fraternity guessing since he has not announced his next move yet.

Ian has been  giving strategic leadership to Uganda Baati’s External Affairs and Corporate Communications  function including oversight of stakeholder engagement and Public Relations for 3years.

Before joining Uganda Baati in May 2022, he previously worked at Uganda Revenue Authority as Manager of Public and Corporate Affairs.

He has featured in the  Vision Group among the Top 40 Under 40 Communications Professionals and named among the Top 100 Global PR influencers by Commentric International.

Ian is a seasoned specialist in communications, marketing, and change management, with over 15 years of experience in public relations and communications. Accredited by the CIPR-UK, Ian currently consults with the European Union under DAI-Global as a change communications specialist in various African countries, a change management specialist at SCIO-Net, and a corporate communications consultant for several corporate firms. Ian has led numerous change and strategic communications projects across the continent and internationally.

His portfolio includes work with institutions such as the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, the Electoral Commission of Uganda, the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), the Petroleum Authority of Uganda, Uganda Tourism Board, and many others, where he significantly enhanced public relations and communication strategies. Ian’s expertise encompasses strategic media relations, stakeholder engagement, and the management of corporate communications to enhance visibility and brand positioning in a competitive environment. He is also the lead facilitator of the Public Relations Fundi Masterclasses, aimed at enhancing the capacity of young professionals in PR, communication, and branding. With a track record of successful projects and partnerships, Ian’s analytical skills and engaging personality drive sustainable results.

He has provided strategic leadership counsel and change management to various organizations, including the Malawi Revenue Authority, Kenya Revenue Authority, Rwanda Revenue Authority, Uganda Manufacturers Association, Private Sector Foundation Uganda, Uganda Airlines, and USAID-Uganda, among others.
